William "Van" Saunders

Mr. William "Van" Saunders, age 72, of Chandlers Ferry Rd, Hartwell, GA, entered in the eternal rest on August 8, 2018 surrounded by his loving family at his home.

He was born on August 25, 1945 in North Carolina. He retired as a truck driver with 34 years of service. He was the son of the late Bill Saunders. He was of the pentecostal faith.

He is survived by; his mother, Lucille Mabe Saunders of Hartwell, wife, Vickie Lynch Saunders of the home. children, Regina (Jamie) Bocanegra of Star, NC, Brandy Farmer (Joey) of Hartwell and Michael (Misty) Segars of Athens, Ga.., siblings, Linda (Lee) Davis of Hartwell, Ga., Pam Johnson of Monroe, NC and Terry (Kathy) Saunders of Ashboro, NC Grandchildren, Kacey (Charlie) Callicut of Seagrove NC, Cheyenne and Aaliyah Bocanegra of NC, Bentley and Brooklynn Farmer, Tyler, Haley, Madison Bryson, Memphis Cawthon, Shannon, Kayden and Chandler Segars of Athens, Ga. Great-grandchildren, Kirra,and Arianna Callicut of NC. He was preceded in death by his father, brother, Phil Saunders and grandson, Karson Farmer.

Memorial services celebrating Van's life will be held on Friday, August 10, 2018 at Three o'clock p.m. from the chapel of Coile and Hall Funeral Directors 333 E Johnson Street in Hartwell. Rev. Barbara Nash and Rev. Stacy Lynch will officiate. The family will be at the home. The family will receive friends Friday one hour prior to the service.
