Don Davenport

Mr. William Donald (Don) Davenport, age 64 of Hartwell, Ga., passed away on Tuesday, December 9, 2025 at home.

He was born on April 13, 1961 in Atlanta to the late William Luther Davenport, Jr., and Mary Tetasley Davenport. Don was a manufacturing representative for solid waste / recycling and was a member of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church. He loved to fish, hunt, watch westerns, cooking shows, travel shows, and he loved spending time with his family, especially the grandkids. He had a booming radio voice and a great sense of humor.

Left to cherish his memory are; his wife, Valerie Golightly Jacobson Davenport, children, Anna Lee Rentz (Nicholas Allan) of Bonaire, Ga., and Mary Taylor Fleming (James Kalen) of Lakeland, Ga., siblings, Debra Lynn Davenport of Hartwell, Ga., and Patricia Ann Byrdsong (Mike) of St. Simons Island, Ga., grandchildren, Griffin, Finley and Chandler Grey Fleming and his furbaby, Prana. He was preceded in death by his parents, and adopted pal, Murphy the dog.

A celebration of Don's life will be held on Friday, December 12, 2025 at Two o'clock in the chapel of Coile and Hall Funeral Directors. The family will greet friends one hour just prior to the service at the funeral home.  

Family members will be at their respective homes.

Coile and Hall Funeral Directors and Crematory, 333 E. Johnson Street in Hartwell is serving the Davenport family during this difficult time.
