Mrs. Virginia Brooks Childs, age 89, of Bowersville, Georgia, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at Heardmont Health and Rehab in Elberton, Georgia.

Born on October 15, 1936, in Greensboro, Georgia, Virginia was the beloved daughter of the late Benjamin Brooks and Carrie (Carter) Brooks. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great great grandmother, sister, and friend whose life was marked by faith, dedication, and love for her family.

Virginia was a hardworking business owner who took pride in her work and the relationships she built throughout her life. She attended Hartwell Church of God, where she cherished fellowship, prayer, and worship. She found joy in serving others, encouraging those around her, and living a life rooted in faith. She was also known for her connection with Lighthouse Laundry and the many friendships she formed there over the years.

In addition to her parents, Virginia was preceded in death by her beloved husband, T.J. Childs; brothers, Lloyd Brooks, Bob Brooks, John Brooks, and Bill Brooks; and sisters, Nell Smith and Dorothy Crippen.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her daughter, Marsha Adams; sister, Annette Ripplinger; granddaughter, Melanie Rowland (Jeremy); great-grandchildren, Austin Adams( Nicole) and Audrey Howell; great-great-grandchildren, Maxwell and Malakai; along with numerous extended family members and dear friends.

Mrs. Childs' legacy of faith, love, and devotion to family will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.

A private celebration of Virginia's life will be held at a later date.
