Virgil A. Kay

Mr. Virgil A. Kay, age 85 of Timberlane Drive in Hartwell, husband of 62 years to Jane C. Kay passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 1, 2023 at home surrounded by his family.

 He was born on March 14, 1937, to the late Roy Kay, and Nora Anderson Kay.

Mr. Kay worked in construction as a masonry, and was a member of Sardis Baptist Church. He was a former member of Home Builders Association and Georgia National Guard for 7 years, loved gardening, loved his children and grandchildren. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman.

He is survived by his wife; Jane Kay, children; Brian (Angela) Kay, Kim (Reggie) Vickery, grandchildren; Briana Faith Kay, Mackenzie Kay Vickery (Reese Traver), and, Maggie Ruth Vickery. He is preceded in death by his parents, sisters; JoAnn Skelton and, Marybeth King.

Memorial Services for Mr. Virgil Kay will be held on Thursday, January 5, 2023, at Eleven o'clock in the Chapel of Coile and Hall Funeral Directors with Rev. John Silver officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Sardis Baptist Church or TJ & Friends Foundation in Elberton, GA.

Services have been entrusted to Coile and Hall Funeral Directors, 333 E. Johnson Street in Hartwell.
