He faithfully served in every church he attended. After he and Ann moved to Canon to live in her childhood home, he attended Macedonia United Methodist Church where Mr. Cordell served as Sunday School Superintendent until moving to Hartwell Health and Rehab in December of 2018. One of his most favorite things over the years was attending monthly Men's Club Meetings at Cokesbury Methodist, Bethesda Methodist and Cedar Creek Baptist where he enjoyed the singing, the fellowship and the food.

Survivors include two daughters; Barbara Cordell of Canon, Jo Beth Guest and her husband Herman of Carlton; one son; Mark Cordell and his wife Debbie of Hartwell; one grandson, Allen Cordell; one Sister-In-Law; Elnora Anderson Carlton of Canon; and nieces and nephews.
