Mr. Sterling Mitchell, age 67 of Hartwell, GA. departed this life on Monday. November 8, 2021 at Piedmont Athens Regional Medical Center.
He was born on March 25, 1954 in Hartwell, GA. to the late Henry and Rosa Mitchell. He attended Hart County Training School, joined Zion CME Church at an early age and worked all his life until retirement.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his two daughters; Valerie (Nikki) McGee of Hartwell, GA. and Carolyn Johnson of Anderson, SC. brothers; David Mitchell of Athens, GA., and Terry Mitchell of Loganville, GA., sister; Shirley Mitchell Verdell of Hartwell, GA., three grandsons; Darryl Heard, Delphonso Heard, Tiquan Cobb, granddaughter; Tanisha Johnson, six great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends He is preceded in death by his parents and best friend; the late Doug Jackson.
Services for Mr. Sterling Mitchell will be held on Friday, November 12, 2021 at two o'clock in the Chapel of Coile and Hall Funeral Directors. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. At his request, Mr. Mitchell will be cremated following the service.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Coile and Hall Funeral Directors, 333 E. Johnson Street in Hartwell.
