Mrs. Shirley Ann Tallent Freeman, age 86 of Hartwell, Ga., passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 9, 2024 at Callie and John Rainey Hospice House.
She was born on April 6, 1938 in Greenville, S.C., to the late Dewitt Tallent, Sr., and Rosa Lee Hill Tallent. Shirley retired from Hart County High School lunch room. She was a member of Price Chapel Church of God.
Left to cherish her memories are; her children, Teresa King of Hartwell, Gwen (Chris) Evatt of Hartwell, Pam (Michael) Smith of Bowman and Tony Freeman of Winterville, siblings, Dewitt Tallent, Jr., Doris McCurley and Rachel Boles, all of Hartwell and Linda Fowler of Lexington, grandchildren, Chris Scott, Gena Eaton, Leann Tornez, Megan Dean, Emily Campbell, Nicole Paulene, Tesia Freeman, and Jarrett Smith. Eight great-grandchildren also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Billy C. Freeman, daughter, Susan Ayers, siblings, Shelby Campbell, Frances Adams, Kathleen Jones and Jerry Tallent.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 13, 2024 at Two o'clock from the chapel of Coile and Hall Funeral Directors with Rev. Tony Franks officiating. Burial will be at Nancy Hart Memorial Park. The family will greet guests 12-2 just prior to the funeral at Coile and Hall Funeral Directors. Family members will be at her daughters home, 55 Kay Drive in Hartwell.
Services have been entrusted to Coile and Hall Funeral Directors, 333 E. Johnson Street in Hartwell.
