Shirlena Long

Mrs. Shirlena McCord Long, age 73, of Hartwell, GA. passed away on Thursday, February 23, 2023, at her home.

She was born on December 12, 1949, in Hartwell, GA. to Carrie Montfort and the late Otis Clark.

She is preceded in death by her husband; William Long, son; Stacey McCord, step-father; Robert Lee McCord, sister in laws; Lue Dean Martin, Ruby Jackson, Linzella Long, brother in laws; Calvin Long, Jim Long, and JC Long.  

Mrs. Long graduated from the Hart County Training School in 196 and became a Jehovah Witness in 1985. She was a devoted mother and grandmother. She was full of life, always smiling, and loved to entertain. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Left to cherish her memories are her mother, children; Tracy Hart, Reginald McCord, and Tara (Kelvin) Long Moore, grandchildren; Myia (Vada) Hill, Nyia Hart, Cortez Hart, Tye'Resha Oglesby, Shaquan (Amber) Mayfield, Darius Mayfield, Reginald McCord Jr., and Rexrecka McCord, 9 great-grandchildren, siblings; Robert (Sherrell) McCord, Jimmy (MaeLaura) McCord , Larry (Valerie) McCord , Eric (Wanda) McCord , Lendell (Nikecia) McCord, William Brawner Jr., sister in laws; Joyce Tucker, Sarah Long, Barbara Long, Louise Eberhardt, brother in laws; Edward Long, Billy Long, Joel Long, Carey Carter. Special friends; Patricia Mathis, Dorothy Brooks, and Loria Moran.  

Funeral services for Mrs. Shirlena Long will be held on Sunday, February 26, 2023, at three o'clock at The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. The body will lie in state at the funeral home on Saturday, February 25, 2023, from 1-4pm. The family is at the home.

She will be laid to rest at the Jehovah's Witnesses Cemetery in Hartwell.
