Evangelist Sharon Denise Smith Eades, age 62, of Hartwell, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at AnMed Health Medical Center in Anderson, South Carolina. Born on October 15, 1963, in Augusta, Georgia. She was the beloved daughter of the late L.C. Smith and Thelma (Thornton) Smith.
Sharon was raised in Ruckers Grove Baptist Church and later joined New Hope Full Gospel Church where she devoted her life to spreading God's love and sharing his word through her vocal talents. She enjoyed singing, eating, spending time with family, and just being loud, outspoken, and bold. She touched many lives not only through her ministry, but also through her work in home health care, where she cared for others with compassion and dedication.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, James Lee Thornton, Gilbert Smith, Lonnie Smith, and Jimmy Smith; her sister, Claudette Hood and her stepdaughter, Donna Eades.
She leaves to cherish her loving memory her son, Jimarion Merritt, her step-son Ricky Eades and step grand-daughter . Her siblings, Debra Smith of Hartwell, GA, Bobby Smith (Linda) of Anderson, SC, and Rev. Keith Smith (Briggett) of Hartwell, GA; her sisters-in-law, Phyllis Thornton of Gainesville, GA, Betty Ann Smith of Lavonia, GA, and Rose Tucker of Hartwell, GA; her brother-in-law, George Hood Jr.; along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, strength, faith, and spirituality that will continue to inspire all of those who had the privilege of knowing her, whether as family, friends, or through her ministry.
She will be deeply missed but forever remembered for her faith, love, boldness, and the joy she brought to everyone around her.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Coile and Hall Funeral Directors. The family will receive friends on Friday evening, March 27, 2026, from 6:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Sharon will be laid to rest privately at New Hope Full Gospel Church Cemetery.
