Mrs. Sara Nelms Winn, age 97 of E. Johnson Street in Hartwell passed peacefully on Thursday, March 26, 2020 at Brown Health and Rehab.

She was born March 4, 1923 in Madison County to the late W.E. Nelms and Jessie Sartain Nelms. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, George Weldon Winn and son, Ronnie Winn, brothers, Hope, Clyde, Ralph, William "Zan", Samuel Thomas and Roy Nelms. She is survived by a number of nieces and nephews.

Sara was a member of Hartwell First United Methodist Church, Live Wire Sunday School Class, Mae Lily Group, Sojourners and the Sunshine Group. She also was a member of the Fellowship of Christian Seniors, Golden Agers, Young at Heart, and Solo's Rook Group. She loved to play Bingo and Bonco with the seniors. She worked as a volunteer for Hart County Hospital and Ty Cobb Hospital for a number of years. She was a seamstress at Hartwell Garment Company for 37 years and retired at the age of 72.

She will be laid to rest next to her husband and son at Nancy Hart Memorial Park with a memorial service to be held at a later date.

Memorials may be made to Hartwell First United Methodist Church, 200 E. Howell Street, Hartwell, Ga. 30643 or the charity of one's choice.

Coile and Hall Funeral Directors, 333 E. Johnson Street in Hartwell will be serving the family.
