Mr. James Sanford "Sandy"  Moore, age 79 of Hartwell, Ga., passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 23, 2026 at home surrounded by his family.

He was born on August 31, 1946 in Hartwell to the late Ralph Henry Moore and Ethel Gaines Moore. Sandy was retired from the Georgia Department of Transportation as a Civil Engineer with over 35 years of service. He was a member of Beulah Pentecostal Holiness Church. Sandy served in the Army National Guard.

Left to cherish his memories are; his wife, Diane Slider Moore, son, James "Jamie" Moore, Jr. (Season) of Raleigh, N.C., daughter, Rebecca Wright (Greg) of Hartwell, Ga., grandchildren, Bailey Soma, Julian Moore and Olivia Moore.

A service celebrating the life of Sandy Moore will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2026 at 4:00 p.m. in the chapel of Coile and Hall Funeral Directors with Rev. Levy Moore and Rev. Don Nestor officiating. 

The family will greet friends 3-4 p.m. on Saturday just prior to the service at the funeral home.  The family will be at the home.
