Mr. Roy Bernice Richardson, age 82, of Honea Path, South Carolina, passed away on September 29, 2026, in Anderson, South Carolina.

Born on July 2, 1944, in Hartwell, Georgia, he was the son of the late Franklin Richardson and Nina Gaines Richardson. Roy worked as a welder in the energy industry. A cowboy at heart, he enjoyed riding horses, farming, and watching old Westerns.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Ronnie Richardson and Mack Richardson.

He is survived by his wife, Gwen Massey Richardson; children, Regan Richardson (Michele), David Richardson (Michelle), Gladys Marroquin, Rusty Michael Richardson, and Rory "Tristen" Richardson; sisters, Patsy Jones and Linda Propes; eleven grandchildren; Jamie Richardson, Marly Alvarado, Cody Richardson, Sierra McKinney, Talon Richardson, Aggie Richardson, Anthony Marroquin, Paislynn Richardson, Ledger Richardson, Emerson Richardson, and Alaysia Richardson and three great-grandchildren, Silas Alvarado, Madigan Alvarado and Rowan McKinney.

A memorial service celebrating Roy's life will be held on Thursday, October 8, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Coile and Hall Funeral Directors, with Rev. Dwayne Evans officiating. Roy will be cremated.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to an animal rescue of one's choice or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Coile and Hall Funeral Directors, 333 E. Johnson Street of Hartwell, Georgia, is serving the Richardson family.
