Mr. Walter "Ronnie" Driver, age 81, of Canon, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at his home surrounded by his family.

Born on April 19, 1945, in Vanna, Georgia, Ronnie was the son of the late L.T. Driver and Mildred Maxwell Driver. He spent his working years as a carpenter in the construction industry, where his skill and hard work were evident throughout his career.

Ronnie was a simple man who enjoyed the things that brought him happiness. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed keeping up with all things sports. He also had a special fondness for pork rinds and boiled peanuts. He was known by many as the peanut man. Above all, Ronnie treasured his family and the time spent with those closest to him.

Ronnie is survived by his children, Gary Driver and his wife, Becky, Mark Findley, and Paula Phillips; siblings, Bill Driver and his wife, Marie, Danny Driver and his wife, Susan, Debra Pruitte and her husband, Herman, and Vickie Hicks and her husband, Vernon; seven grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

In addition to his parents, Ronnie was preceded in death by his daughter, Sandy Driver; sister, Betty Smith; and brothers, Ed Driver, Tony Driver, and Joel Driver.

A memorial service celebrating Ronnie's life will be held on Friday, August 28, 2026 at 11:00 am at Tabernacle Baptist Church, with Pastor Rich Lewis and Rev. Randall Starrett officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 26, 2026 from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 pm at Coile and Hall Funeral Directors. Per his wish Ronnie will be Cremated.
