Roberta Toews

Mrs. Roberta A. Toews, age 87 of Union Hill Church Road in Bowersville, Ga., went to be with the Lord on Monday, July 5, 2021 at Piedmont Athens Regional Medical Center.

She was born on July 3, 1934, in Harrison, MI, the daughter of the late Herbert Bates and Frieda Wallace Bates. She was a homemaker and was a member of the Church of God in Christ Mennonite church.

She was preceded in death by her parents and daughter-in-law Arllyn Toews. She is survived by her husband, Ted Toews; children, Robert "Bob" (Trish) Toews of Lavonia, Randy (Margaret) Toews of Almena, WI, Ron (Bev) Toews of Dalhart, TX, Kevin Toews of Minneapolis, MN, Chad Toews of Bowersville, GA; siblings, Betty (Robert) Toews, Don (Elvina) Bates, Dick Bates, Geraldine Brady, Janet German, Bob (Maris) Bates, Bonnie Briggs.

The funeral service for Mrs. Toews will be on Friday, July 9, 2021 at 11am at the North Georgia Mennonite Church, 4347 Bethany Bowersville Rd., Canon, GA 30516. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will be receiving friends on Thursday, July 8, 2021 from 6-8 pm at the Coile and Hall Funeral Directors, 333 E. Johnson St., Hartwell GA 30643.
