Obituary for Robert Matthew "Bobby" Wilson
Mr. Robert Matthew (Bobby) Wilson, age 74 of 200 Oak Park Lane, Canon, Ga., entered into rest on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born October 2, 1943 in Athens, Ga., to the late Robert Wilson, Sr., and Alma Jean Moore Wilson. He was retired from Englehard and the National Guard Armory where he was a staff sergeant. He was a member of Canon Baptist Church.
He is survived by; his wife, Virginia Crenshaw Wilson, of the home, daughters, Janene Wilson, Canon, Ga., Marcy Whitworth (Mark), Martin, Ga.,step-son, Barry Jacks (Lyle), Pickens, S.C., step-daughters, Lynn Dickerson, Canon, Ga., and Denise Wallace, Bowman, Ga., sister, Diane Crump. Hartwell, Ga., grandchildren, Brandon Blalock, Holly Blalock, Josh Whitworth and Jacob Whitworth, five step- grandchildren and four great-grandchildren also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Michelle Wilson and step-grandson, Dakota Jacks.
Funeral services celebrating the life of Bobby Wilson will be held on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at four o'clock in the chapel of Coile and Hall Funeral Directors in Hartwell. Rev. Ken Buffington will officiate with burial to follow at Nancy Hart Memorial Park with military honors provided by the U.S. Army.
The family will be at their respective homes and will receive friends Monday, April 23 , 2018 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Coile and Hall Funeral Directors, 333 E. Johnson Street in Hartwell will be serving the Wilson family.
