Dr. Robert “Bob” Techo, age 94, of Gainesville, GA, formerly of Hartwell, GA passed away peacefully on the afternoon of July 8, 2025, at 4:45 PM at Manor Lake Assisted Living in Gainesville, GA. A beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, Bob lived a full and remarkable life marked by dedication, curiosity, and kindness.
Born on January 1, 1931, in Bronx, NY, he was the son of the late Henry and Anna (Grosspin) Techo. Bob earned his PhD in Chemical Engineering from Georgia Tech. He proudly served his country as a naval officer aboard a destroyer before pursuing his passion for science and education. Bob was a member of Faith Lutheran Church of Hartwell, GA.
Bob is survived by his devoted wife, Dorrit (Lossman) Techo; his sons, Chris of Hartwell, GA, Mark (Elisa) of Gainesville, GA and Eric (Kelly) of Suwanee, GA; his six grandchildren Travis, Tyler, Erica, Jessica, Justin, and Katy and his six great-grandchildren Bailey, Wyatt, Blake, Sarah, Bobby and Parker. He was deeply proud of his family and the legacy he built through love and mentorship.
Per Bob’s wishes there are no formal services scheduled, and only a private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to Bell YMCA in Hartwell, GA, in honor of Bob’s memory.
Bob will be remembered for his sharp mind, generous spirit, and unwavering dedication to his family and community. His presence was a gift to all who knew him.
