Mr. Robert Warren Shelton, age 83, of Hartwell, GA and Atlanta, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 10, 2026 at Piedmont Atlanta Hospital.

Born on April 26, 1943, in Albuquerque, NM, Robert was the son of the late Eugene Shelton and Rusty Shelton. A successful businessman with a master’s degree, he owned and operated his own automotive dealership for many years. His passion for automobiles was more than a career, it was a lifelong love that reflected his entrepreneurial spirit, dedication, and determination. A man of the Episcopal faith, Robert also enjoyed spending time with computers, following politics, and keeping up with current events.

Robert will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, and a man who took great pride in his work, his family, and the life he built. His wisdom, steady presence, and strong work ethic will be fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his two brothers.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Ginger Rapp Shelton of Atlanta, Georgia; his daughter, Samantha Dees Shelton; his cherished granddaughter, Emily Rose Shelton; his brother-in-law, Mike Rapp; along with extended family members and many dear friends who will continue to honor his memory.

Robert's legacy is one of perseverance, integrity, and devotion. He leaves behind not only the business he built and the accomplishments he achieved, but also the lasting example of a life lived with purpose and quiet determination. His memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

A celebration of Robert’s life will be held at a later date.
