Richard Alexander Drescher Sr.

Mr. Richard Alexander Drescher Sr., age 95, passed away peacefully on Thursday May 28, 2026. 

He was the son of the late Alexander Drescher and Esther Gillen Drescher. He was born on December 27, 1930. He was a retired truck driver. Richard served in the Air Force Reserves. He was of the Catholic faith, and he enjoyed watching the birds while sitting on his deck on Lake Hartwell. He loved the town of Hartwell and had many friends around Hartwell. He would gladly help a neighbor at a moments notice. He also enjoyed spending time with his family.  

In addition to his parents, he was pre deceased by his wife, Shirley Wallace Drescher, a daughter Lori Sue Dexter and a sister Jacklyn Gianopolous. Survivors include a son Rick Drescher (Colette) Dunwoody, Ga., daughter: Sherri Drescher, Grandchildren Amanda Drescher, Sy Drescher, Lauren Partalis, Kelly Stonecypher.

Richards wishes were to be cremated. A celebration of life service will be held at a later date at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Hartwell.

Services have been entrusted to Coile and Hall Funeral Directors and Crematory, 333 E. Johnson St. Hartwell Ga. 30643
