Renè Molborn-Avant was called home on October 28, 2022, after an extended illness. She wasborn on May 4, 1955, in New York City.  She was the eldest of six children born to the late Willie Ephraim and Thelma Hughes Baker.   

Renè was formerly married to the late John Bernard Molborn and to this union three children were born.

Renè accepted the Lord at an early age as a member of First Sharon Baptist Church in New York City where she served as a faithful member until she relocated to Atlanta, Georgia.  While in Atlanta, Georgia René joined Grace Community Church in Clarkston, Georgia where she remained a faithful member until her death.

Renè received her early education in the New York City Public School System. She received her Bachelor's Degree from Kirkland College in Clinton, New York. Renè began her career at AT&T in New York City and later upon her relocation to Atlanta she transferred to the AT&T office in Atlanta. Her career with AT&T spanned over 40 years.  

Renè was a beautiful Sister, Mother, Wife, best friend, life coach and many other things. To her children she was the loveliest and most supportive woman in their lives. To her sisters she was always considered the bold one who never backed down, even when that meant no one could go out. She was an inspiration, model, and a pillar for many. With Renè, no Easter basket was ever empty and no Valentine's Day uncelebrated. She blessed those around her with her wise words and sweet spirit.

Renè was a devoted wife to Lawrence Avant and devoted mother to John Molborn II, Michael Vincent Molborn, and Samantha Catherine Molborn.

Renè was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Michele Baker and Rosalind Baker.

Renè leaves to cherish her loving memories her husband Lawrence Avant, her three children, John Molborn of Fayetteville, NC, Michael Molborn (JaNeen) of Conyers, Ga, Samantha Molborn of Lawrenceville, GA. Three siblings Robin Baker of Decatur Ga, Vivian Baker of Bradenton, FL, and Willie Baker (Brenda) of Fort Walton Beach FL. Four Grandchildren Josiah Shumate of Atlanta Ga, Sydni Molborn of McDonough, GA, Michael Molborn Jr and Gabrielle Molborn of Conyers, GA. Two Aunts, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family members and friends.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Molborn-Avant will be held on Saturday, November 5, 2022, at 2:00p.m. at Maple Springs Baptist Church in Dewy Rose GA. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Services have been entrusted to Coile and Hall Funeral Directors, 333 E Johnson Street, Hartwell GA 30643
