Mrs. Rebecca “Lynne” Young, age 68, of Chatsworth, Georgia, formerly of Hartwell, Georgia, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, May 29, 2026.

Born on September 17, 1957, she was the daughter of the late Collie Davis Holbrook and Edna Mae Ginn Holbrook. Lynne devoted her life to education and the enrichment of young minds. She earned a Master's Degree in Education and enjoyed a distinguished career as an educator, retiring after many years of dedicated service, with the final chapter of her career spent at Eastside Elementary School.

A devoted wife, sister, aunt, and friend, Lynne found joy in listening to music, reading, and spending time with those she loved. Above all, she cherished the opportunity to pour into the hearts and minds of the countless children she taught throughout her career. She was of the Baptist faith and lived a life marked by kindness, compassion, and service to others.

Lynne is survived by her loving husband, Michael Young of Chatsworth, Georgia; sisters, Beth Dove (Curt) of Bowman, Georgia, Marcia Dutton (Ronald) of Hartwell, Georgia, and Pam Vaughn of Laurens, South Carolina. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews, Kenneth Dutton, Matthew Dutton, Justin Dutton, Sommer Ellenburg, Jake Dove, and Katie Dove; as well as her great-nephews, Lawson Dove and Jaxson Dove.

In accordance with her wishes, cremation will take place.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Coile and Hall Funeral Directors with Rev. Ken Brewer officiating.

Services have been entrusted to Coile and Hall Funeral Directors and Crematory of 333 E. Johnson Street Hartwell, GA 30643.
