Mrs. Reba Coile Hudgens, age 94, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at her home in Hartwell, Georgia. Born on September 26, 1931, in Danielsville, Georgia, she was the daughter of Enoch Poke and Katie Lee McKinney Coile. Reba was a member of New Prospect Baptist Church where she taught youth Sunday School. In her senior years, she attended Flat Shoals Baptist Church.

Reba was employed by the Hartwell Garment Company for over 50 years as a seamstress and inspector until the business closed. She had a work ethic like no other, missing work only for the most significant occasions. Following her tenure at the Hartwell Garment Company, Reba thoroughly enjoyed working many years as the hostess for McDonald's in Hartwell where she met many new friends and kept in touch with everyone she knew. It was a joy in her Golden Years and she was very appreciative for the opportunity. When not at work, her hands were rarely idle at home where she enjoyed spending time working in her yard and baking delicious cakes.

Reba is survived by her daughter, Cynthia Hudgens Carter of Spartanburg, South Carolina. She is also survived by three grandchildren; Meredith Ann Carter Krzyston and her husband Stephen of Columbia, SC, James William Carter, Jr. of New York, NY, and Lauren Elizabeth Carter of Alpharetta, GA; and three great grandchildren. One sister, Betty Collins of Augusta, GA also survives.

In addition to her parents, Reba was predeceased by her husband, Harvey Lee Hudgens; five sisters, Mae Bell House, Delree Barton, Mary Ray, Jessie Floyd, and Hazel Sanders; two brothers, Harold Coile and Claude Coile; and son-in-law, Dr. James William Carter.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 5, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Coile and Hall Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service. Reba will be laid to rest privately at Nancy Hart Memorial Park.
