Mr. Ray Joel Holland, age 87 of Canon, Ga., passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 30, 2025 at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born January 29, 1938 in Hartwell, Ga., to the late Lawson Holland and Grace Mcleskey Holland. He retired from textiles and was a member of Bethany Baptist Church. He loved watching NASCAR, sitting on his front porch and watching Hummingbirds as well spending time with his grandchildren Gracie Ann Ray and Garrett Ray who were the light of his life. 

Left to cherish his memory is; his wife, Bonnie Ruth (Wilson) Holland, daughters, Sherry (David) Ray of Canon, Ga., and Denise (Tony) Lark of Hartwell, Ga, as well as grandchildren Gracie Ann Ray and Garrett Ray. 

 He was preceded in death by his parents, children Ray Michael Holland and Joel Bryan Holland. Brother Howell Holland. Sisters Loy Baker,  Ruby Banister and Hazel Holland.

Funeral services for Ray Holland will be held on Friday, January 2, 2026 at 3:00 p.m.  from the chapel of Coile and Hall Funeral Directors with Rev. Luther Thomason officiating. He will be laid to rest at Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery in Canon.

The family will greet friends from 2-3 p.m. on Friday January 2, 2026 at the funeral home just prior to the service. Family members will be at the home, 544 Joe Johnson Road in Canon.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt Thank You to Ray's devoted caretakers Cassandra Barksdale, and Sandra Dalton. 

Flowers are optional or memorial may be made to Bethany Baptist Church  

Services have been entrusted to Coile and Hall Funeral Directors and Crematory, 333 E. Johnson Street in Hartwell.
