Ms. Phyllis Holmes Burton, age 63, of Hartwell, entered eternal rest on Friday, May 14, 2021 at AnMed Health Medical Campus.
She was born in Franklin County, GA; the daughter of the late Mr. Doc Holmes and Willie Mae Pierson Holmes. She was of the Holiness faith and was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Blant Holmes; brother-in-law, Dank Burton; nephews, Daniel Hickman and James Hickman. Mrs. Burtons survivors are her husband Pete Burton of Hartwell; son, Adam Burton (Breanna) of Hartwell; daughter, Esther Cooper of Hartwell; daughter-in-law, Stephanie Burton of Hartwell; brothers, Heyward Holmes of Canon, Dorsey Holmes of Canon, Roger Holmes of Greenville, SC, Lawrence Holmes of Hartwell, Matthew Holmes of Royston; sisters, Joyce Hickman of Royston, Marlene Haynie of Hartwell, Connie Crothy of Royston; nine grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
A funeral service for Mrs. Burton will be held on Tuesday, May 18, 2021 at two o'clock pm., from the Chapel of the Coile and Hall Funeral Directors, 333 E. Johnson St., Hartwell, GA 30643. Rev. Hubert Carter will officiate. The family will receive friends Monday, May 17, 2021, from 5-7 pm at the funeral home. The family will gather at 77 College Street. Royston, GA 30662.
All arrangements are under the care and direction of Coile and Hall Funeral Directors, 333 E. Johnson Street in Hartwell.
