Peggy Mercado

Ms, Peggy Lisa (Watkins) Mercado, age 55,of Salem, SC, formerly of Elberton, GA passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 9, 2025 at Prisma Health- Oconee Memorial Hospital surrounded by her family. Born October 23, 1969 in Elbert County, GA she was the daughter of Mildred (Martin) Watkins and the late Delmar Watkins.

Peggy was a homemaker, where she tenderly and gently cared for her children. Her hobbies included making arts and crafts, all things nature, and operating a Karaoke Business with her fiancé, where she was known as the "Queen of Karaoke". 

In addition to her husband Peggy is preceded in death by her brother, Mark Watkins.

Along with her mother Peggy is survived by her sons, Nicolas Mercado, and Craig Jordan, her fiancé Carl Nelson. Sisters Marilyn Watkins, and Crystal Watkins Johnson. three grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.  

The family will receive friends on Friday, July 18, 2025 from 12:30 - 1:30 pm at Coile and Hall Funeral Directors and Crematory. A Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel of Coile and Hall Funeral Directors and Crematory on Friday, July 18, 2025 at 1:30 pm. Burial will take place at Doves Creek Baptist Church Cemetery privately.
