Peggy Ann Cureton

Mrs. Peggy Ann Cureton, also known to some as "Pookie", age 65 of Elberton, GA was called home by her Lord and Savior on Monday, August 18, 2025 at Emory University Hospital- Midtown in Atlanta, GA surrounded by her family. She was born November 30, 1959 in Elberton, GA to the late Jimmy T and Pearlie Cureton.

She joined Norman Grove CME Church at an early age, where she served as the church and district secretary until her health declined. Peggy worked in the manufacturing, poultry, and nursing industries. She loved going to church and conferences, as well as singing, cooking, baking, and spending time with her family. 

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her four brothers Jimmy A. Cureton, Willie Cureton, Sam Clark, and Frank Allen. 

She leaves to cherish her memory; Cedric (Sharon) Cureton, Shervon (George) Wells, of Elberton, Joseph (Connie) Cureton, Sandy (Julie) Cureton of Toccoa, Kyaira Knight and Donald Ray of Elberton. Two brothers Johnny (Loretta) Cureton of Elberton, Thomas (Peggy J.) Cureton of Elberton. One sister Yolanda (Roger) Murrill, and sister in law Patricia Hunt. 24 grandchildren, 18 great- grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, god daughter Veronica Sadler other relatives, and two special friends Letita Smith and Alice Worthan.

The family will receive friends on Friday, August 22, 2025 from 5:00 -7:00 PM at Coile and Hall Funeral Directors. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2025 at 2:00 PM from the Norman Grove CME Church in Elberton, GA. Burial will follow in the church cemetery

Services have been entrusted to Coile and Hall Funeral Directors and Crematory 333 E. Johnson Street Hartwell, GA.
