Ms. Patsy Ann Jones, age 70 of Royston, Ga., went to be with the Lord peacefully on Friday, May 14, 2021 at St. Mary's Hospice House in Bogart, Ga.,

To God be the glory! Today, we give thanks to our Lord and Savior, the giver and sustainer of life as we celebrate a beloved sister, aunt, cousin, neighbor and friends Patsy Ann Jones.
Patsy Ann earthly journey began May 18, 1950 in Royston, Georgia. She peacefully transitioned to her eternal rest on May 14, 2021 at St. Mary’s Hospice, Athens, Georgia.
Pasty was blessed and privileged to have been unto loving parents, the late Matthew and Lois Jones who strongly instilled Christian principles within the family home.
Pasty possessing a zeal for learning. She was the first African American to graduate with honor from Franklin County High School in 1968. Subsequently in 1972, she relocated to New York joining her sisters Madelyn and Ophelia and sought higher education by earning a Bachelor and Masters degrees in Finance from Pace University, New York, N.Y. and Long Island University, Brooklyn, New York.
Also, this option was an enhancement as it led to an internship with the Internal Revenue Service and ultimately a tenured career at the Flushing Daycare Center, Flushing, N.Y. for 20 years from which retired in 2010.
Patsy undaunted by retirement returned to Georgia to be with family and friends. Thus, with a loving spirit Patsy embraced a mission outreach sharing supportive efforts and resources with various local churches.
Patsy was an avid reader, writer, mentor and counselor. She enjoyed traveling, music, television ministries and visitations of nursing facilities. Patsy was a true character who never judged anyone. She had a fun-loving spirit, a generous soul and a special presence wherever she resided.
Patsy was preceded in death by nine siblings:
Patsy leaves blessed and precious memories to sisters: Madelyn, Carrie, Ida, Sara (George), FeeFee, Dorothy (Roy), and Christine, Goddaughter Dr. Nicole Alexander-Scott (Michael), Great Godson Christian, Special Nieces and Nephew, Aletta, Jatasha and Kia, loving and supportive nieces and nephews, cousins, neighbors, and a circle of friends.

Funeral services celebrating her life will be held on Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at Two o'clock in the chapel of Coile and Hall Funeral Directors. Cremation will follow the service.

All arrangements are under the care and direction of Coile and Hall Funeral Directors, 333 E. Johnson Street in Hartwell.
