Pat Mann
McCollum
Sep 1, 1937 — Sep 15, 2026
Hartwell, GA
Patricia “Mimi Pat” Mann McCollum, age 89, of Hartwell, Georgia, passed away peacefully on September 15, 2026, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center, surrounded by “her girls,” the beloved family members who cared for her with the same tenderness and devotion she showed throughout her life.
Born on September 1, 1937, in Hart County, Georgia, Pat was the daughter of the late Webbie and Julia Mann. From an early age, she displayed a generous spirit, a compassionate heart, and a deep love for her family. Her faith guided her, her kindness comforted others, and her warm presence made everyone feel welcome.
Pat devoted her professional life to nursing, a calling that reflected her natural compassion and desire to serve. She graduated with honors from The Barrett School of Nursing in Augusta, Georgia, and worked as a registered nurse at Hart County Hospital, Hart Care Center, and Elbert Memorial Hospital. Patricia was a faithful member of Cokesbury United Methodist Church,
To her patients, their families, and her coworkers, Pat was more than a nurse. She was a steady hand, a listening ear, and a source of comfort during difficult times. Her dedication and genuine concern left a lasting impact throughout the community. As children, we often heard stories about how our mother delivered babies before the doctor could make it to the hospital or held the hands of patients, and their families, as loved ones passed away. These stories reflected the compassion and dedication she brought to every part of her life. She received the honor of Nurse of the Year on more than one occasion.
Family was the center of Pat’s life. She treasured time spent with loved ones, enjoyed traveling, and found joy in simple moments shared around the table and in conversation. Her devotion was evident in the encouragement she offered and in the way she made sure those around her always knew they were loved. She never ended a phone call without saying, “I love you.” When her family replied, I love you too, she would always answer, “I love you more,” and she truly did.
Pat will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her love, faith, and kindness will continue to live on in the hearts of “her girls” and all who were blessed by her presence.
In addition to her parents Patricia is preceded in death by her brother Ronnie Mann.
Pat is survived by her loving family, Daughters: Belinda Souza James (Mark) of Gulf Breeze, Fl., Allisa Souza Carey (Mike) of Hartwell, Ga., Tonya Souza Smith (Dale) of Lula, Ga.
