Mr. Oliver Leonard Bennett, Jr., age 76 of Hartwell, Ga. entered into rest at his home on Monday, June 5, 2017
Born February 12, 1941 in Taylors, S.C., he was the son of the late Oliver Leonard Bennett, Sr., and Fannie Thain Newberry. He was self-employed owner of Bensaco Company and an entrepreneur. He was of the Methodist Faith and attended Reed Creek Baptist Church. He proudly served our country in the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of American Legion #109 and was a past member of the Edisto Beach LIons Club. He was a motorcycle and boating enthusiast.
He is survived by; his wife, Gayle Pollard Bennett, son, Leonard Scott Bennett of Charleston, S.C., sister, Sally Bennett Miller and her husband, Eugene of Evans, Ga., niece, Paige Miller Rivera and Jose, nephew, Joshua J. Miller and Heather and three great nephews.
A celebration of life service will be held on Friday, June 9, 2017 at Eleven o'clock from the sanctuary of Reed Creek Baptist Church. Rev. Sam Dulaney will officiate as well as some of Oliver's friends. A celebratory reception will follow the service at the Reed Creek Baptist Church Family Life Center. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Oliver's memory to the American Cancer Society P.O. Box 22478 Oklahoma City, OK 73123
