Melzie McIntosh

Ms. Melzie Louise Maxwell McIntosh, age 87 of Hartwell, Ga., passed away peacefully to her Heavenly home on Saturday, Nov. 25, 2023 while under the care of Rainey Hospice House.

She was born April 30, 1936 in Elberton, Ga., to the late Talmadge Maxwell and Emma Sue Blackwell. She had been employed as a housekeeper, worked in daycare and was a CNA. She loved to crochet, cook, crossword puzzles and sewing. Melzie was a member of Rucker's Grove Baptist Church.

Left to cherish her memories are; son, Talmadge (Peggy) Maxwell of Hartwell, Ga., siblings, Kenneth (Marie) Maxwell and Phyllis Ann Thompson, grandchild, Kala Maxwell Orsley and great-grandchildren, Chanz and Chyna Orsley, sisters in law, Frances G. McCurley and Sarah McIntosh, brother in law, Roy Tate also a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Jimmy McIntosh, siblings, Elder Talmadge and Francis Etta Maxwell, John E. Maxwell, Era C. Maxwell, Pearl Joe (Rufus) Turner, Evelyn (Coy) Mattox and Eula Ree Tate and brothers in law, Willie McIntosh, Johnny Frank McIntosh, Joe Lewis McIntosh, George Mcintosh and LeRoy Mcintosh sisters in law, Sally Heard, Gladys Woofy, Mary Sue Curry, Corine Teasley, Irene Hickman and Ruth McIntosh.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at Eleven o'clock from the chapel of Coile and Hall Funeral Directors. Burial will be at Rucker's Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the funeral.

The family will be at 100 Rellim Way in Hartwell.

Services have been entrusted to Coile and Hall Funeral Directors, 333 E. Johnson Street in Hartwell.
