On October 4, 2021, the world lost a very loving mother and friend after a short battle with cancer. Melanie Michael received her wings and went home to be with her Lord and Savior.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Christy; and her longtime friend, Jeff Carter. She is survived by her son, Casey Clement and wife, Tracy; many close family members and friends including a very devoted friend to the end, David Carter.
Melanie was a kind, generous soul who devoted her life to helping women overcome various addictions. She taught them the power of forgiveness thru Christ’s love and grace. She worked as a CNA in the Hartwell community and she truly loved her job. She had a gift of taking care of others and she treated each patient as if they were one of her own family members. In her free time, she loved reading her Bible, listening to uplifting music, taking long walks along the dam at Lake Hartwell, and spending time at the lake watching sunsets. Melanie never met a stranger and was always willing to help others in need – all you had to do was ask and she was there.
If Melanie was here today, she would tell you not to put things off as we are not promised tomorrow so make sure you are confident in your salvation, to pray without ceasing, and to love unconditionally. To honor Melanie’s request, there will be no funeral service. In lieu of flowers, Melanie requested that donations be made to New Beginnings Ministry in Martin, Georgia.
The family of Ms. Michaels has chosen the Coile and Hall Funeral Directors, 333 E. Johnson St. Hartwell, GA to assist them in their time of grief.
