Mary Ellen Johnson

Ms. Mary Ellen Johnson, age 86 of Lakeview Circle, Hartwell went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 18, 2021 at Rainey Hospice House surrounded by her family. She was the daughter of the late Jack Johnson and Anna Price Johnson. She worked in the garment industry. She attended Abundant Life Baptist Church and was a member of the choir. She ministered at the nursing homes and enjoyed cheering up the residents by singing to them.

She is preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Arthur Johnson, Lee Johnson, Lena Johnson and Jean Floyd. She is survived by her children, Judith Cape of Woodstock, GA, Ricky (Teresa) Cape of Iva, SC, Lecia (Barry) Wilson of Bowersville, GA; grandchildren, Jennifer Cape, Matt Cape, Kaleb Cobb, Noah Cobb; great grandchildren, Kathen Cobb, Ayden Cobb, Wilson Cape, and Tilly Grace Cape; godchildren, Kimberly and Matt Braun, great godchildren Makenzie and Kenady Braun.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 22, 2021 at Three o'clock in the chapel of Coile and Hall Funeral Directors with Rev. Ken Brewer officiating. The family will greet friends from 2-3 just prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will be at their respective homes.
