Mrs. Mary Jean Brown Wilson, age 68 of Mt. Olivet Road in Hartwell, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 30, 2019. She was the widow of Larry William Wilson.
She was born February 5, 1951, in Royston, GA, the daughter of the late Thomas Wade Brown and Gladys Mae Stone Brown. She was the owner and operator of Mary Jeans Beauty Shop. She was a member of Mt. Olivet Baptist Church and a member of the Dolly Teel Sunday School Class. She is survived by her daughters, Tina Simmons of Hartwell and Tonya (Daniel) Smith of Lavonia; sisters, Julia Clark of Hartwell, and Betty (Leon) Myers of Black, AL and grandchildren, Paige Simmons, Anzley Smith and Ava Smith. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sisters, Donna Richardson and Fannie Sue Lawrence.
Funeral services celebrating Mary Jean's life will be on Friday, May 3, 2019 at 11:00 AM at the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church. Rev. Jason Webb and Rev.Caleb Bond will officiate. Burial will follow in the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church Cemetery.
The body is at the funeral home where the family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. The family will be at the home
