Evangelist Mary E. Davis

Evangelist Mary Elaine Jones Davis, age 64 of Hartwell, Ga., wife of 35 years to Anthony "A.D." Davis, went to be with her Lord on Saturday evening, January 28, 2023 at Prisma Health Greenville Memorial Hospital while surrounded by her family.

She was born on July 16, 1958, in Hartwell, GA. to the late Tommy "Sunny Boy" Jones Jr.  and Katherine Norman Jones.

Mary enjoyed deer hunting, flowers, and loved her family. She was an Evangelist and Missionary at New Light Baptist Church and served as church clerk. She was employed with Tenneco and currently with TI Automotive for over 16 years.

Mrs. Davis is survived by her husband; A.D., who were united in marriage on July 25, 1987, daughter; Latoya Jones of Hartwell, siblings; Kathy Brock (Crandell), Beverly Jones, Stonie Jones, and Ronnie N. Jones, sister in laws; Charlene Jarrett and Naomi Jarrett, grandchild; Kyrese Jones, nieces and nephews; Demetrius Winkfield, Eric Jones, Derrick Jones, Wendale Rucker (Ashley), Ashley Spencer (DJ), Christopher Jarrett, Tanika Evans, Nar'asja Rucker, and Demiere Rucker.

Funeral services will be held Friday February 3, 2023 at 1:00pm at New Light Baptist Church with Rev. Kenneth Cooper and Rev. David Johnson officiating. Burial will be in the New Light Baptist Church Cemetery. The body will be placed in the church at noon until the funeral hour.

The body is at the funeral home and will lie in state on Thursday, February 2, 2023 from 12:00-4:00pm for those that wish to pay their respects. The family is at the home.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are; Ed Starks, Nick Gabriel, Braylon Alexander, Eric Cutshall, Henry Davis, Dexter Blackwell, and Rodney Jones. Honorary pallbearers will be the HCHS class of 1976. Flower Bearers will be Jennifer Wilson, Lynn Cook, Chameckia Sturghill, Latasha Burton, Tosha Johnson and the HCHS Class of 1976.
