Ms. Avis Martin Cox, age 88 of Benson Street in Hartwell, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at her home with her family by her side.
She was born on September 11, 1933 to the late Michael Pope Martin and Zilla Mae Chambers Martin. Marty retired from the Hart County Road Department. She loved water aerobics at the YMCA and spending time with her family. She was a former member of Hartwell First Presbyterian Church.
Left to cherish her memories are her children, Laura Cox of Whitetop, VA., Lisa Cox of Montgomery, AL and Jim Cox of Loganville, Ga. She was preceded in death by her parents, and former husband, James C. Cox (former Hart Co. Hospital Administrator).
In accordance to her wishes, Marty was cremated and no formal service is planned.
Arrangements are under the care of Coile and Hall Funeral Directors, 333 E. Johnson Street in Hartwell.
