Mac Oglesby

Mr. Mac  Fort Oglesby "Sonny", age  89 , of Lightwood Rd. Hartwell, GA. passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Tuesday, May 31, 2022.

 He was born in Hart County, GA., to the late Mac and Theo Oglesby on December 14, 1932.

He was a mail carrier for 30 years, retiring in 1991, a member of the EMC Board of Directors for 23 years, serving as chairman for 15 years, a member of the Oglethorpe Power Corporation Board for 16 years. He also served on the Hart County Hospital Board for 6 years and was a member of the Hartwell First Baptist Church.

Mac enjoyed playing cards with his buddies and watching his children, grandchildren, and great grand child grow up. He never turned down a good hug!

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by sisters; Doris, Ina, and Alice, brother; Leslie, and grandchild; Will Oglesby. He is survived by his wife of 67 years; Mary Ann McMullan Oglesby, sister; Ann Oglesby Bowers of Paragould, Arkansas, sons; Paul Mac Oglesby (Jan), David George Oglesby, daughter; Susan Oglesby Hobson (John), grandchildren; Heath Oglesby (Candy), Gavin and Hannah Oglesby, Kate Hobson, and great grandchild; MacKenzie Oglesby.

Memorial services for Mr. Oglesby will be held on Saturday, June 4, 2022 at twelve o'clock in the Chapel of Coile and Hall Funeral Directors with Rev. Carter Tucker officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
