Obituary for Lucius Evans

Mr. William Lucius Evans, age 90 of Wayne Circle, Hartwell, Ga., husband of Jo Ann Evans, went to be with the Lord peacefully at his home on Wednesday, July 25, 2018.

He was born on July 21, 1928, in Hart County; and was the son of the late Early Amos Evans and Maude Skelton Evans.
He was married for 66 years to his bride JoAnn Byrum Evans. He was a retired heavy equipment operator having worked with County Road Dept. and Hartwell Chevron beginning at age 74. Mr. Evans was a member of the Sardis Baptist Church and the Senior Adult Sunday School Class. He was a member of the Burger King Breakfast Club. Mr. Evans loved to travel having taken many cruises and loved spending time with his adoring family.

He is survived by his wife of the home, children, Diane Christopher (David) of Hartwell, Sandra Milford (Tim) of Hartwell, Andrea Gehweiler (Bruce) of Dallas, GA, Sharon Voyles (Tony) of Carnesville; grandchildren, Luke and Adam Christopher, Megan and Evan Milford, Breanna and Sierra Gehweiler, and Colt and Levi Voyles..
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Alfred, Luther, Amos, Joe Robert, Benson Evans, and sisters, Francis McCoy and Olivia Burbick.

Services celebrating his life will be held on Saturday, July 28, 2018 at two o'clock pm at the Sardis Baptist Church in Hartwell. Rev. John Silver and Rev. Carter Tucker will officiate. Burial will follow in the Sardis Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday evening, July 27, 2018 6-8 p.m. at Coile and Hall Funeral Directors of Hartwell, 333 E. Johnson St. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Sardis Baptist Church 4359 Anderson Hwy.,Hartwell, GA 30643.
