Lucious James Johnson, beloved son, brother, and friend, entered into eternal rest on November 12, 2025. Born on April 3, 1969, in Hartwell, Georgia, Lucious lived a life full of energy, curiosity, and purpose. He later made Atlanta, Georgia his home, but his heart remained deeply connected to the people and places that shaped him.
Lucious was a true visionary-always thinking, always creating, always dreaming of the next idea. Whether he was working as an electrician or traveling across the country delivering loads from state to state, Lucious carried with him a desire to explore the world and learn from different cultures. His mind never stopped moving, and he had a gift for imagining new possibilities long before others could see them.
Anyone who knew Lucious knew his vibrant personality. He had a warmth that pulled people in, a friendliness that made strangers feel like old friends, and a natural ability to make everyone around him feel seen and welcomed. He was stylish, sharp, and always put together-never without his Nike shoes and his signature clean, neat look.
Lucious had many passions, but his greatest love was his family. He cherished every moment spent together and held his relationships close. His circle of friends was wide, and he treated them like family too. Lucious never met a stranger, and his presence had a way of lighting up any room he entered.Lucious is survived by his children Luquezious Johnson and Tyneshia Hayes. Mother Winnie Ruth Johnson, father and stepmother LJ and Mary Johnson. Sister and brother in law Veronica and Paul Suber. Brothers Amos and Thomas Johnson. Step brother Darius Johnson. Step Children Demetrius Patterson and Kedarrius Patterson. Grand children; Luqus, Lotus, Patricia, Levi, Esenyce, Jonas, Kai, Koby, Za'breylin, and London. Long time friends Anita Tate and Lisa Johnson. In addition to those listed above Lucious leaves behind a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
As we celebrate his life, we rest in the comfort of God's promise:
"And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." - Philippians 4:7
Lucious leaves behind a legacy of love, creativity, and connection. Though he is no longer with us physically, his spirit lives on in every memory, every laugh, and every life he touched. His journey on earth has ended, but his peace has just begun. The family will receive friends on December 6, 2025 from 10:00 - 11:00 am at Coile and Hall Funeral Directors. Funeral service will follow at 11:00 am in the funeral home Chapel.
With love, we honor him. With gratitude, we remember him. And with faith, we release him into the arms of the Lord.
Services have been entrusted to Coile and Hall Funeral Directors and Crematory of 333 E. Johnson St. Hartwell, GA 30643.
