Ms. Lucille Dowell, 68, of Hartwell, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 31, 2026, in Anderson, South Carolina.

Born on September 12, 1957, Lucille was the daughter of the late Ernest Dowell and Addie Lee Patrick Dowell.Lucille found joy in life's simple blessings. She loved tending to her garden, watching the birds that visited her yard, and spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Above all, she loved the Lord, and her faith was reflected in the kindness and love she shared with those around her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Clyde Dowell, Herman Dowell, Charles Dowell, Melvin Dowell, Roy Dowell, and Fred Dowell; her sister, Gail Dowell; and numerous loved ones who welcomed her into eternity.

She is survived by her daughters, Amanda Jordan and husband, Charles, of Lavonia, Georgia, and Kelly Lewis; her siblings, Willie Ruth Phillips, Mildred Stowe, Junior Dowell and wife, Mary Jo, Louise Bennett and husband, Virgil, Mary Sue Hill and husband, Jerry, Edward Dowell and wife, Becky, and Wanda Owens and husband, Cody.

She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Wesley Evans (Kaylan), Jonathan Evans (Abbie), Summer Jordan, Brittany Haler (Noah), Karra Dalton (Tyler), Caleb Haler, and Joshua Lewis (Callie); great-grandchildren, MJ, Bristel, Olivia, Sabastian, Walker, and Elly; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will miss her dearly.

A funeral service to celebrate Lucille's life will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, in the Chapel of Coile and Hall Funeral Directors with Rev. Jerome Hill and Rev. Stephen Phillips officiating. Interment will follow in the Riverside Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the service hour on Tuesday at Coile and Hall Funeral Directors.

Though her hands are now at rest from tending gardens and caring for those she loved, the seeds of faith, love, and kindness she planted throughout her life will continue to bloom in the hearts of all who knew her.

Services have been entrusted to Coile and Hall Funeral Directors and Crematory of 333 E. Johnson Street Hartwell, GA 30643.
