Mrs. Lima "Beanie" Staton Alewine, 95, of Royston, Georgia passed over on March 25, 2023 with her loving daughters by her side. She was born in Gwinnett County to Samuel and Azzie Staton on December 18, 1927 and was raised in Mountain City, Rabun County, Georgia.
Beanie was a Shipping Supervisor for Carnesville Sportswear for 30 years. She was an avid reader and won prizes for writing. She could discuss almost any issue with you in great detail and always loved learning. She was very proficient on the internet and stay active on social media until just weeks before her passing. Most of all, she loved her family and friends and checked on each and every one of them almost daily.
Beanie was preceded in death by her parents and twelve older brothers and sisters as well as her husbands, Mr. Ralph Alewine and Mr. Floyd Holladay. She is survived by her daughters, Duchess Garrard (Lloyd) and LuAnn Black (David), stepsons and stepdaughters, Rev. Keith Holladay, Kevin Holladay, Renita Thompson (Ricky) and Rhonda Wood (Dwight), seven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren, many loving nieces and nephews, cousins and her very devoted friends, Peggy Hendrix, Robbie Booth Moore and Buena Smith. She will be greatly missed by all.
A memorial service and celebration of her life will be held at 1:00pm on Tuesday, April 4, 2023 at the Coile and Hall Funeral Directors Chapel in Hartwell. Family will receive friends on Monday, April 3, 2023 from 5:00-7:00 pm at the funeral home and Tuesday one hour prior to the service.
