Mrs. Lessie Vee Simpson Walker, age 83, of Hartwell passed away.  On April 5, 2023, the Lord decided her pain and suffering was over. It was time for her to come home. She departed her life in the comfort of her home. She was married to her husband, Johnny Walker, for over fifty years until he passed away in 2018. Lessie Vee Walker was born on October 31, 1939, to the late Harold and Louise Simpson.

She retired from Tenneco Automotive. She enjoyed crossword puzzles and watching the Lifetime channel. She was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church in Carnesville where she was on the usher board and kitchen committee.

Preceding her in death was her sister, Beatrice Reed. She leaves to cherish her memory; two sons, Albert (Harriet) Simpson and Harold (Michela) Walker, both of Hartwell, Ga., two daughters, Annie (Clarence) Jones, and Martha (Stacy) Adams, both of Hartwell and one stepdaughter, Bernetta (Richard) Wilson of Jefferson, Ga., a special caregiver, Gwendolyn Teasley. Two stepsisters, Louise Geter and Reba Rayton of Hartwell, Ga., stepbrother, Jerry Roebuck. Twenty-three grandchildren and one great-grandchild, a great-great grandson and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services to celebrate her life will be held on Monday, April 10, 2023, at Three o’clock from Zion Hill Baptist Church. Pastor William Price, Sr., and Rev. Pernell Jones presiding. She will lie in state one hour prior to the service at the church.

Burial will be in Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.

Family members will be at the home, 179 Jones Bishop Road in Hartwell.

Services have been entrusted to Coile and Hall Funeral Directors in Hartwell.
