It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Lena Mae Allen, a cherished matriarch, caregiver, and beloved member of the Dewy Rose community, who departed this life on January 22, 2026, at the age of 83. Born on June 12, 1942, in Royston, Georgia to the late Roebuck Little and Frances Vincent Little, Lena was the epitome of love and devotion, always putting others before herself.Lena dedicated over 36 years of her life to caring for those in need, working at Brown Convalescent Home, where her nurturing spirit made a lasting impact on the many lives she touched. Her commitment to caregiving extended beyond her profession, as she filled her home with love for her family and all who entered her life.As a daughter, sister, mother, and grandmother, Lena leaves behind a legacy of love.
She is survived by her son Bennie Allen and his wife Towyone, her son Jerry Allen, her daughter Beverly Rayton, and son Stanley Little and his wife Mattie. She is also lovingly remembered by her brother Milton Little, and sisters Josephine Willis and husband Robert Willis, Ruth Jones, and Sarah Rucker and husband Jerry. Lena's warmth and spirit will continue to live on through her 13 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren, who were the light of her life and whom she adored along with a host of nieces and nephews.
Lena enjoyed life's simple pleasures, including her love for crossword puzzles and coloring, which brought her joy and peace. Her gentle spirit and unwavering kindness will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.As we remember Lena Mae Allen, may we all find comfort in the cherished memories we hold of her remarkable contributions to our lives. The legacy of her love and compassion will forever be etched in our hearts, guiding us as we carry her memory with us.
In addition to her parents, Lena was preceded in death by her husband Norris Allen, brothers; Larry Little, Hilton Little, John Little, Joe Little and Jimmy Little.
The family would like to thank some very special friends; Dean Crawford, Lavine Thornton, Margie Rucker, Tommy Lou Wilburn, Rogene Allen and Sandra Kay who's love and kindess was unwavering. Also a special thank you to Bobbie Jean Allen and Sandra Cade, as well as the entire staff with Gentiva Hospice for their exceptional care.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 28, 2026 from 5:00 - 7:00 PM at Coile and Hall Funeral Directors, 333 E. Johnson Street Hartwell, GA 30643. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 29, 2026 at 1:00 pm at Ruckers Grove Baptist. Lena will be laid to rest at Ruckers Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family is at the home of Bennie and Towyone Allen, 138 Hart Way, Dewy Rose, GA 30634.
Services entrusted to Coile and Hall Funeral Directors, 333 E. Johnson Street in Hartwell.
