Lecel Pinkston

Lecel Pinkston, age 82, of Lavonia, GA entered into eternal rest on March 22, 2021 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

He was the youngest child and son of Mrs. Ida Heard Pinkston and Mr. Brooks Pinkston. He was born on October 1, 1938 in Hart County, GA. He attended Franklin County Schools and retired from Monroe-Tenneco in 2005 after 39 years. Mr. Pinkston was a faithful worker and friend to everyone. He never met a stranger, was very friendly, had an outgoing personality and loved to talk. He was also a faithful member of the New Light Missionary Baptist Church until his health declined. He loved his Church and the people. He was a choir member for many years with the male choir, a loving father and understanding, patient, husband. Lecel loved to hunt, fish, plant and attend to his vegetable garden. His family nicknamed him "Dock".

Mr. Pinkston married Cynthia E. Burtch Pinkston in 1965 and to this union four children were born; Lecel Fitzgerald Pinkston (Cynthia) of Lavonia, GA., Erica Eleza Pinkston Thompkins (Pastor Aachen) of Decatur, GA., Sheryl Mashunn Pinkston of Lawrenceville, GA., and Xavier Tarlenzo Pinkston of the home. Left to cherish his memories are his wife, children and grandchildren; Kasey Thompkins, Miranda Brooks, MaKaila Pinkston, Trinati Kimora Pinkston, Kiranna Isabella Christian, Brendon Thompkins, Caleb Thompkins, Darius Young, and great grandchildren; Adrianna Brooks, Lawrianna Brooks, Karley Young, Londyn Norman and Samara Ware, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and family members. All of his siblings preceded him in death except; Mrs. Willie Jo Pinkston Dae of Charlotte, NC., Mrs. Vergie Pinkston Gillard of Lavonia, GA. who is now in a nursing center, sister in laws; Mrs. Sarah Walker Pinkston (JL), Mrs. Beverly H. Wilkins (Marcus), Mrs. Teresa H. McCurry (Preacher Fredrick), brother in law; William Higginbotham (Miranda), all of Lavonia, GA.

Services for Mr. Pinkston will be held on Saturday, March 27 at one o'clock in the Coile and Hall Funeral Directors Chapel. The body will Lie in State on Friday, March 26, from 12-8 pm. The family will greet friends from 7-8pm at Coile and Hall Funeral Directors. Burial will be held in the Lavonia City-Burgess Cemetery. The family is at the home. THE FAMILY HAS REQUESTED THAT FACE COVERINGS BE WORN TO THE SERVICE.
