Kelvin Thomas (Tom) Grenier, 70, beloved husband of Jean (Jeannie) Tuggle Grenier for 50 years in November, passed from life after a fierce, long battle with Lewy-Body Dementia. Tom passed away peacefully at home on July 10, 2026.

Tom is survived by his wife, Jeannie, and predeceased by his sister Jeanette Grenier and parents Lois and Tom (Senior) Grenier.

Born on January 11, 1956 in Morristown, New Jersey, young Tom lived most of his childhood in Baltimore Maryland. Tom moved with his family to Atlanta in his senior year of high school. A quiet child, Tom discovered a love of music that was reflected in his beautiful voice and clarinet playing. As a shy adult, he felt compelled to sing and give beautiful blessings at family and friends' gatherings.

A graduate of Georgia State University, Tom's early career was as an accountant. With a subsequent move from an urban to a rural setting, Tom had a second career in retail at the Hartwell Home Depot helping people through the puzzle of home projects in flooring and paint. Tom retired from Home Depot in 2018.

Tom was a natural athlete with a passion for running and hiking with Jeannie. The couple traveled extensively in adventures around the world exploring ancient realms in Greece, Turkey, Thailand, Egypt, India, and more. Later on, the ownership of a beach house on St Helena Island, SC brought a new round of treasured adventures. Tom and his wife Jeannie lived 20 years in Hartwell enjoying lake time, starting a vineyard for winemaking, visiting with their most wonderful neighbors, and spoiling their dog children with field training and an obstacle course.

Beloved companions Tango and Cha Cha grieve his departure, miss his tender care, and assure him that Jeannie will be their sole protected human forever.

Jeannie, her mother, two sisters, and many nieces and nephews wish to thank the dedicated wonderful caregivers, neighbors, friends and employees of Amedisys Hospice.

Tom had an adventurous spirit and beautiful soul. He will be remembered for his beautiful smile, his warmth and quiet strength.

Funeral Arrangements are incomplete at this time and will be announced.

Services have been entrusted to Coile and Hall Funeral Directors and Crematory of 333 E. Johnson Street Hartwell, GA 30643.
