Mrs. Joyce Heard Smith, was 86 years of age. She was born April 9th, 1940 to the late Jim and Leana Heard. She gained her wings on August 7, 2026 at Brown Health and Rehabilitation.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; Jim and Leana Heard, her husband, John D. Smith, son, Jonathan Smith. Eight siblings, Swason, Gladys Daniel, James, Fannie Bryd, Harry, Chanes, Hattee Morrison and Matthew Heard and one sister in law, Ruth Harland Heard.

Joyce's sweet and gentle spirit will forever be in our hearts and leaves behind one son, Craig Smith and one granddaughter, Tamesha M. Smith, one sister in law, Roberta Baker and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Your smile brought warmth, your words brought peace. Your love was a gift that will never cease. Though God has called you home to rest, He surely knew He was taking the best.

Rest peacefully, dear Aunt Joyce. Your work on earth is finally done. You left behind a legacy of love, and a beautiful light that will never be gone.
