Mr. Johnny Swaney, who many knew and loved riding his bicycle through the town of Hartwell for years, has passed away at the age of 76 at Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital on May 19, 2026. 

He was born on August 27, 1949 in  Anderson SC to the late Clifford Swaney and Louise Bloom Swaney. He worked as a truck driver for years until his retirement. He is survived by his nephew, Chris Swaney. He was preceded in death by his parents. 

Mr. Swaney will be cremated and no formal services are planned at this time.
