Mr. John Daniel Hoffmann, age 62, of Elberton, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, September 1, 2026 at his home.

Born on November 24, 1963, in Atlantic, Iowa, John was the son of the late Eugene and Alice Hoffmann.

John was a devoted and loving husband, the proudest dad, "your favorite person in the world" type of guy. He found happiness in the simple things in life.

He loved being the Grill Master in the backyard, riding his mule around the country roads, taking the dogs swimming at the lake, doing yard work around the farm, cutting his Christmas trees, showing off his Massey Ferguson tractors, eating a Nutty Buddy out of the freezer, sitting at the soccer field, coaching on the wrestling mats, or attending a Cattleman's meeting. John never met a stranger and had a natural ability to strike up a conversation and make friends wherever he went. He was the light in the room that everyone was drawn to.

His four-legged companions, including his dogs Lambeau, Oliver and Bear and cats Rip and Whitney, held a special place in his heart.

John is survived by his wife, Bobbi Hoffmann; children, Hannah Hoffmann, Cassandra Hoffmann and her husband, Tyler Boldt, and Harrison Hoffmann and his wife, Nicole. Siblings Nick Hoffmann, Jim Hoffmann and his wife Maureen, Karen Oller and her husband Larry, Bill Hoffmann and his wife Jenny, Nancy Holtz, and her husband Keith, Denise Schieber, Sharon Witmer and her husband Gary and Jeanne Wintermote and her husband Rusty; three step siblings, Janis Norgaard and her husband Eldon, Lee Greve and his wife Nancy, Gwen Porter and her husband Craig. Step sister in law Stacia Greve. In laws, Robert Ruhs and his wife Judy, sister in law, Jere and her husband Mick. In addition to those above John leaves numerous nieces and nephews and a host of four legged grandbabies.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his sister, Becky Hoffmann, stepmother, Elaine Hoffmann, sister in law, Barb Hoffmann, step brother, Pete Greve, and brother in law, Mark Schieber.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. at Coile and Hall Funeral Directors. A memorial service celebrating John's life will follow in the chapel of Coile and Hall Funeral Directors with Rev. Kevin Vaughn officiating at 2:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be made to the Elbert County Cattleman's Association or Elbert County FFA in John's memory. The family kindly requests those attending the service to wear yellow, as it was Johns favorite color, in lieu of yellow bright colors are welcome.
