Joe Thomas Turner

Mr. Joe Thomas Turner of Douglasville, Ga., went to be with the Lord on Monday, September 28, 2020 at his home.

He was born on July 21, 1941 in Elberton, GA to the late Joe Brown Turner and Lucille Sutherland Turner. Mr. Turner served in the United States Army. He worked in the construction industry as a pipefitter and was a member of Rock Branch Baptist Church. Mr. Turner enjoyed collecting coins, country music records and antiques.

Mr. Joe is survived by his children; Pamela (Donnie) Shaw of Anderson, S.C., Scarlet (Scottie) Price of Calhoun Falls, S.C., Lana (Bryn) Dunn of Amarillo TX., and stepdaughter; Susan Ortiz of Amarillo TX. Siblings; Sandra (Charles) Hulett of Elberton, GA. and Brenda (Leon) Fulbright of Elberton, GA. Grandchildren; Nicole, Matthew, Kala, Brana, Ragan, Chelsea and Jake. Great-grandchildren; William, MaKayla, Carter and Cori. He was preceded in death by his parents, son; Troy Turner and stepchildren; Pam Litchfield and Bill Boyd.

Graveside services will be held on Monday, October 5, 2020 at New Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery at Eleven o'clock in the morning with Rev. Tim Gaines officiating. Military honors will be provided by the U.S. Army The family is at the home of Mrs. Sandra Hulett, 3018 Moore Rd. Elberton, GA., 30635
