Joe Norton

Mr. Joe Cohen Norton, Jr.,  age 77 of McCurry Road in Hartwell passed away on Sunday, February 6, 2022 at Brown Health and Rehab.

He was born on February 23, 1944 in Royston, Ga., to the late Joe Cohen Norton, Sr., and Rozelle Dickerson Norton. He was retired from McClanahan Crushed Stone with forty plus years of service where he operated heavy equipment. He was of the Methodist faith.

He is survived by; his wife, Sherrie S. Norton of the home, children, Joy (Will) Yeargin, Dewy Rose, Ga., Jodi (Scott) Mabry, Hartwell, Ga., Joe (Kayla) Norton, Dewy Rose, Ga., Peaches (Brad) Cuevas, Dewy Rose, Ga., siblings, Jackie Harris, Charlene Norton and Mary Alice Clark all of Hartwell, Ga., grandchildren, Mycal, Johannah, Brianna, Morgan, Ryann, Cohen, Reid and Cashton. He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Tammy Bryant. 

Funeral services celebrating the life of Joe Norton will be held on Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at Four o'clock in the chapel of Coile and Hall Funeral Directors. Rev. Kathleen Deegan-Neal will officiate. Burial will follow in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park.

The body is at the funeral home where the family will greet friends Tuesday 3-4 p.m. just prior to the funeral service. The family will be at the home, 342 McCurry Road in Hartwell.

Arrangements are under the care of Coile and Hall Funeral Directors, 333 E. Johnson Street in Hartwell.
