Jerry Seawright

Mr. Jerry Seawright, age 71 of 9522 Hwy 81 South Iva, SC, 29655; husband of Diane Posey Seawright, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 27, 2018 at his home.

Mr. Seawright was born September 1, 1946 in the Bullsnort community Hart County, GA. He was the son of the late Charles P (C.P.) Seawright and Cleora Gaines Seawright. He was the owner/operator of Seawright Backhoe Service until his retirement, at which time he turned the business over to his son Chuck Seawright. It is now Seawright Construction and Utilities. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Iva. Jerry loved talking to everyone and telling them about his grandchildren, enjoyed riding kids on his golf cart in the neighborhood and loved selling cars, so people would stop and talk with him. He is survived by his wife of 52 years Diane of the home; sons: Jamey (Karmen) Seawright of Iva and Chuck (C.P.) Seawright of Iva; grandchildren, Bailey Seawright, Chase Seawright and Cayden Seawright, brother: Baron (Beverly) Seawright, sisters, Jeanette (Johnny) Coile, Carol Williams, all of Hartwell, Ga. He was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings: Frances Wilson, Sara Jean Duncan, Ann Ward, Larry Seawright, Jim Seawright, Joel Seawright, Tom Seawright, Bill Seawright and by some dear friends; one Very Special (adopted) granddaughter Karson Simpson, and Very Special nephew Brad Seawright.

Services celebrating the life of Mr. Jerry Seawright were held on Monday, April 30, 2018, 3 pm at the First Baptist Church of Iva, SC. Rev. Jerry Gray and Rev. Chad Forrester of Weatherford, TX officiated.

Coile and Hall Funeral Directors, 333 E. Johnson St., Hartwell, GA will be serving the Seawright family.
