Jermel Smith

Mr. Jermel Junior Smith, age 40, of Royston, GA., passed away on Wednesday, March 8, 2023, at St. Mary's Sacred Heart in Lavonia, Georgia.

Born on March 10, 1982 in Royston, Georgia to the late Jerome Smith and Virginia Maxwell Smith. He was a car detailer and enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Bowman.

Left to cherish his memories are;  his children, Jamere Merritt of Athens, Ga., Keosha Gibbs of Royston, Ga., Keairia Rucker of Elberton, Ga., Jalen Brown Ga., and  Makel Merritt of Lavonia, Ga., and Chayston Smith of Hartwell, Ga., his fiance', Shantrell Jones, sisters, Lasonia Smith of Royston, Ga., Patricia Rucker of Athens, Ga., and Barbara Rucker of Elberton, Ga., and one grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents  

The body will lie in state at the Funeral Home on Monday, March 20, 2023, from 10am-4pm.

Funeral services for Mr. Jermel Smith will be held Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at 2:00pm at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Bowman, Georgia. He will lie in state one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Family members will be at their respective homes.

Services have been entrusted to Coile and Hall Funeral Directors, 333 E. Johnson St. in Hartwell, Georgia.
